Kodak announced that it will stop making cameras and digital cameras, as well as digital frames. Instead, the company is focusing on licensing patents and printing. It will continue to honor warranties and customers of existing products to ensure a smooth transition.
Ironically, it was a Kodak developer who invented the first digital camera in 1975. Kodak's reluctance to leave the traditional film arena proved a disastrous decision, as traditional photography was dealt a harsh blow by its digital cousin. Which sounds a lot like where I expect the music, comic book, and film industries to be in another decade unless they change strategies soon.
