All-Consuming American Political Circus

This has been an extremely aggressive political cycle (for the last year and a half or more) here in the States, so information on Cyberculture and technology has been sparser than usual. In fact, what little has been reported has been infected with politics to the extent that it's been hard to separate the two.

And I'm not just talking about the Presidential Office; political discourse has metastasized to consume all news and reports in the last few years. From "Third-Wave Feminism" and "Rape Culture" to poor Pepe's racist tendencies, to gender gaps and constant allegations of racism, almost everything that's been discussed has had little to nothing to do with actual Cyberculture or technology.

If you've noticed a definite pattern in these increasingly hostile and unfounded "reports," you are far from alone. I've done my best to keep it off the blog, but it's become impossible not to discuss at least occasionally. Sadly, it is not going to get any better until some drastic, and hopefully dramatic (who doesn't enjoy popcorn?), steps are taken to reclaim our Cyberculture from these perverse interlopers.

In the meantime, I'll continue reporting on the things that really matter, like World of Warcraft.
