As a percussionist, I am not a big fan of electronic drums in music, regardless of the style or genre. I have noticed with increasing frequency the number of releases lately from one and two, sometimes three, -man bands, many of which use drum machines like the simmons sd7pk because drummers are not easy to come by! Especially in Metal.
So, yet again, as a traditional percussionist, I do not "approve" of drum machines in professional recordings (even those done by amateurs!) but I definitely understand the need to go to such extremes.
