Connectivity Issues

I have been having intermittent connectivity issues since May. After about a dozen calls to tech support, they finally sent someone out to check the lines. They found no problem. In the meantime, I was given a new modem. The tech who came out provided me with a wireless modem, suggesting the wireless router I've been using off and on for the last three years might be the problem. The very next day, at 7am on the dot (close enough, anyway), the signal dropped for about five minutes, then came back.

Now, when I called, they pinged the modem from the call center and told me I was dropping packets. When I mentioned this to the tech who came out to my house, he said he had no knowledge of that. Anyway, they finally said they were swapping ports at the service station in my area and this was a last ditch thing they rarely do. Then they gave me the problem customer speech - they literally turned the whole thing around on me! The tech suggested I had tickets for intermittent connectivity going back to January. The call center confirmed that I did not.

I haven't noticed the signal dropping since the port was changed - that's the good news. The bad news is that, if I do, I'm going to have to find another ISP because my current one - the one through whom I've had service for six years - is unwilling to admit that they have network issues from time to time that affect customers.
