20% of Americans Offline

1 in 5 Americans does not use the Internet, according to a recent poll of some 2200 Americans aged 18 or older. Of those, many were senior citizens or spoke English as a second language, and most made under $30,000 annually. The disabled were also less likely to use the Web or e-mail.

Not surprisingly, the poll also found that most people access the Internet wirelessly now, with a large majority citing cellphones as their point of access.
