Internet Surpasses Newspapers

I would have thought this a milestone long since achieved, but according to Excellence in Journalism's State of the Media 2010, more adults now get their news from the Internet than newspapers. Only local TV news remains more popular than the Web, at 50%. Online ad revenue surpassed print ad revenue, as well - another first - growing 14% last year.

47% of adults in America receive local news on a mobile device. Though every cable news channel and program lost viewers in 2010, profits for all are expected to increase. 93% of American adults listened to AM/FM radio at some point during the week in 2010.
