"Mr. Golden Voice" Ted Williams signed himself out of rehab on Monday. The formerly homeless man who became an Internet sensation when a reporter recorded him talking in his "God-given" radio voice voluntarily entered a treatment program after he was detained by LAPD following an altercation with what was reportedly a family member.
Sources say Williams was dissatisfied with his treatment at the Texas facility but plans on seeking treatment, largely on an outpatient basis, elsewhere. Apparently, Williams was upset at the presence of cameras and requests for constant on-air interviews with Dr. Phil McGraw, who some say browbeat Mr. Golden Voice into the program to begin with. These same sources insist Williams was being exploited.
His whereabouts are unknown, but it appears he may have a press conference set for Thursday in Los Angeles.
