Blogger's Template Editor - A Review

Obviously I laid this out using Blogger's new Template Designer. And it's about as powerful as the templates are useful -- which is to say, "not very much."

Granted, I just took whatever looked nice first and started playing; there are many options from which I think I could cobble together something a little better-looking. Still, my criticisms lay more with the navigation and the fact that a lot of stuff simply doesn't work. Even editing the HTML doesn't help in cases such as changing the color of certain elements (which had to be attempted because they refused to behave properly in the Template Designer / Editor in the first place).

For a first pass at something slightly different, I don't completely hate it, but it could obviously be much better. My plan now is to take this raw start and begin fleshing it out on my own. The problem is how the internal Layout and Template Editors will handle it.
