Starbucks announced that they are partnering with a number of companies to allow customers using the coffee chain's wi-fi services access to their content, even if others must pay for it. Several "old media" companies have recently erected "paywalls," or announced intentions to do so, which force users to pay a subscription fee in order to access the site's content.
Some of the partners include USA Today, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal. Apple's iTunes was also listed as a partner, though it is unclear what this means; will Starbucks' customers be allowed free downloads from the site?
