Two hours after creating a Twitter account, former late-night talkshow host, Conan O'Brien, had twice the followers of rival, Jay Leno. Two fans who noticed his rapid Twitter traffic decided to record the event as it unfolded, and captured the phenomenon as O'Brien gained some 1000 Followers in under one minute.
Twitter confirmed that the account actually belongs to Conan O'Brien; it now has the site's "Verified Account" seal. Conan O'Brien has over 350,000 followers as of 5:10pm CST. I refreshed his page several times within a one minute time period and also observed his Followers grow by over 1000 within that short window!
