Britain to Fight Fraud Online

Britain has put together a nearly $10 million cybersecurity force to tackle the country's growing online fraud problem. Authorities estimate some $7 billion is lost each year to the many scams and fraudulent programs offered online and nearly 3/4 of all adults had received some form of online scam e-mail in the last year.

The task force will specifically work to prosecute offenders, which has never been done in the UK, in a program which will span three years. The areas affected include Scotland and Wales. Though many websites have been closed, many of those reappeared under different domain names within 24 hours. One authority admitted they were "not having as much success as [they] would like."

Their primary approach will be an awareness campaign.
