The Vatican has given its seal of approval to a new iPhone app that helps Catholics observe the sacrament of confession. The app is not meant to replace actual confession, but to allow users to engage in their faith digitally. The app was created by programmers in Indiana who heard Pope Benedict XVI's January 24 speech in which he encouraged young Christians to participate in social networks and let their presence be known online.
