Entropia Virtual Real Estate Sells for Half-Million

Jon Jacobs, nee Neverdie, sold his resort asteroid on Planet Calypso (Entropia Universe) for $635,000. Jacobs bought the asteroid in 2005 for $100,000 and opened it to the paying public as the extravagant Club Neverdie. He leased land to others and opened up other areas to hunters and miners, all for a price, and made his $100,000 investment back within eight months.

Entropia uses its own currency with a fixed-rate exchange. Players pay for Entropia currency and, when they acquire PED (Project Entropia Dollars) in the game, they can cash them out for real-world money. Of course, Entropia charges a transaction fee like any exchange.
