Medical Update

I know, I know: You don't care. But I just wanted to let you know that I had my sinuses "scraped" last Thursday and am still recovering. It is painful, to be sure, but not as bad as you may have heard and even though I am still very early in the recovery stage, I can honestly say I felt a major difference from the moment I woke up in the hospital!

My doctor told me I might hear people complaining about the packing process (they pack your nasal passage and sinus cavity with some kind of gauze) but he used some kind of material that ablates on its own. I can feel it, and it does hurt, but the pain meds I received are doing a pretty good job of handling it. It feels like impacted water -- like when you do a flip in the pool and get water in your nose -- but it's manageable.

So, yeah, if your doctor suggests it for any reason, I say go for it! I'll keep you apprised of further developments. Because I know you care.
