An Orthodox Jewish rabbi is suing Jimmy Kimmel and ABC for unauthorized use of his image on the Jimmy Kimmel Live TV show. Internet sensation, Rabbi Dovid Sondik, aka "The Flying Rabbi," claims the late night talk show obtained authorization to use video footage from TMZ, but not from him for the use of his YouTube-uploaded video, thus "proving" the show and network had a double-standard when it comes to seeking authorization.
Interestingly, the case is actionable because Jimmy Kimmel Live and ABC failed to seek authorization from YouTube. The video they showed was of Rabbi Dovid Sondik, but he was incorrectly identified as another rabbi. Rabbi Sondik says he was made into a "laughingstock."
