A Michigan bill, which passed in the Democratic-run House and is now on its way to the Republican-controlled Senate, looks to dismiss lawsuits brought against people who post negative comments regarding businesses on social networking sites, blogs, and other online outlets. According to the bill, if the poster's comments are protected by the First Amendment, the cases would be thrown-out. Those opposed to the bill say it could have unintended consequences.
