Microsoft has released the beta version of a Fix-It program which brings the automatic diagnostics capabilities of Windows 7 to Vista and XP. The program constantly monitors known OS issues and compatibility problems with connected devices, then notifies users as to available fixes or installs them automatically. The program also anticipates possible issues with security updates before they are installed.
XP users must have Service Pack 3 installed; presumably, Vista users can install the download without any specifications. Download the program from Microsoft Windows' Fix-It Center.
