WinAmp is closing its virtual doors December 20th according to a message on their homepage. AOL may also be pulling the plug on Shoutcast although no announcement to that effect has been made as of yet. AOL acquired both properties in 1999 when it purchased Nullsoft.
TechCrunch reported that a source had told them Microsoft may be in talks to purchase both properties but nothing more on the topic has been said.
