AOL Buys Huffington Post

AOL has purchased the Huffington Post for a cool $315 million, the company announced today. Media darling, Arianna Huffington, comes with the deal; she will act in a managerial capacity. "HuffPo", as it is commonly known, has some 25 million monthly users. It joins AOL's larger community of niche blogs and sites, including Engadget, TechCrunch, PopEater, and others.

Arianna Huffington will be put in charge of all this content. One analyst called the $315 acquisition, "The hiring fee to get Arianna Huffington."
