While not the first time Steve Jobs has left Apple, his battle with pancreatic cancer signifies that this exit may be the last one. Jobs announced Wednesday that he is stepping-down as Apple CEO, though said he would like to remain on the board if the company will have him.
Despite Jobs' departure, analysts say he has infused the company with his customer-serving mindset and that will live-on in his wake (both metaphorically and, eventually, literally). Instead of worrying about whether or not a product will make a profit, Apple employees have been taught to wonder how best will a product serve the end-user. This is Job's legacy, and one that has made Apple the leader in innovation throughout the industry.
