Blogger's New Interface

Blogger unleashed an entirely new interface yesterday and I'm trying it out. It's nice-looking but confusing, and not just because I'm used to the old interface.

Blogger went with a modernized minimal design which, I guess a lot like my own website, makes it kind of hard to figure out where everything is. You really have to press buttons and pull levers to figure out what does what. It looks like some things were moved purely for the sake of design, and it's going to take some time to get used to everything being in a new place.

Blogger also integrated their new editor into the mix, which I don't like because the new editor sucks. It's been improved since last I reviewed it, but that isn't saying much. There are some nice features, so maybe I'll just have to give it some time to grow on me.

I wish I could say more, but they literally rolled this thing out last night and I haven't had much time to figure it out, so I'll revisit the topic at a later date.

I switched back to the old interface for now. The new Blogger interface is clean and nice and all, but it was slowing me down way too much. I'll need a few days to play with it and find everything.

It's a major overhaul and it's going to take some time to get used to it.
