Colorado Woman Charged with Son's Death Because She Was on Facebook

A 34-year-old woman has been charged with child abuse resulting in death after her one-year-old son drowned in the bathtub while she was on Facebook. The woman says she was playing a game and checking friends' status messages while the child was in the bathtub. She left him for 10 minutes, checking on him once. When she did not hear the boy, she found him drowned in the tub.

Colorado prosecutors are known for their aggressive, highly questionable prosecutions and demand for extreme, Draconian sentences. Time and again, Colorado DAs have been accused of grandstanding to further their political careers, which is tantamount to malicious prosecution, yet none have been charged as of yet. One of these creeps, Myrl Serra, has been charged with unlawful sexual conduct and indecent exposure, but the details of the case have been sealed and no one involved will speak to the press.

Was it children? Was it plea-bargained down from rape? As a public figure, Myrl Serra has no expectation of privacy; as a lawyer, he is being illegally protected.
