Starting September 12th, Google Hangouts on Air is moving to YouTube Live. Content recorded on HoA will still be available on YouTube. Many of the features will remain available, but Applause and Showcase will be removed. The Q&A feature will still be available through Google Slides.
Google has given no reason for the move, but some believe it has failed to attract an audience, as well as broadcasters. Opened to the public in 2012, Google's Hangouts on Air has featured a handful of high-profile broadcasts, including one by President Obama.
