Dell Laptop Keyboard Outage Workaround

Having now gone through two Dell laptops that encountered this issue, I know the workaround that will get your Dell laptop keyboard back up and running correctly, and it's pretty simple:

1. First, turn off the Dell laptop.
2. Unplug the power cord.
   Remove the battery entirely.
   With the battery removed and power cord unplugged, press and hold the Power button for at least 10 seconds.
3. Reinstall battery, then plug in AC adapter.
4. Restart the Dell laptop.

This issue only affects the Dell Inspiron 15 series, or so it appears from web searches. I have only noticed it affecting the left half of the keyboard, and I have had two different units with this problem.
