I decided against upgrading this small computer; I'll keep it as a backup, but I'm going to get a full-sized box again. When I have the money, I'll handle the rest of these computers that have been blasted out of their power packs or motherboards or what have you by the lightning.
Anyway, I've mainly been watching streaming media and handling e-mail as best I can. Things lock-up with more than two or three programs open, but they don't lock-up entirely; after what seems to be several minutes sometimes, the programs free-up. It still take forever to close them once they come back into focus.
However the streaming media has been, for the most part, going far better than one might expect with only 1 GB of RAM. In fact, there have been fewer skids and stalls under this machine than on any of the others.
When all is said and done though, you can definitely run Vista Business on 1 GB of RAM.
