James Woods' Twitter Case to Move Forward

A judge failed to halt progress of James Woods' case meant to determine the identity behind a Twitter account the actor claims defamed him by calling him a cocaine addict. He seeks $10mn in damages from the offending tweet the actor's lawyer characterized as reckless, claiming it damaged Woods' character on an international scale.

The Twitter user has thus far maintained his anonymity, sending a lawyer to court as representation. Twitter has refused to release the user's identity, as per its policy. His defense points to several of Woods' own indiscretions on Twitter, as well as noting that the platform is known for outlandish behavior.
