Half of All Adults Use Social Networking

Pew Research has determined that Baby Boomers are making social networking more a part of their daily routine, and that at least 50% of all adults use social networks. This should come as no surprise, as social networks have replaced the portal and most forums; social networking has become an integral part of the online landscape.

Further, a spokesperson noted that while some feel overwhelmed, most people say social networking is a pleasant experience. Pew began studying this area in 2005, when only 8% of all web users (5% adult) used social networks.
