Recording music and playing live are two very different animals requiring different approaches. It is about far more than just a clean sound or acoustics, as a studio is a completely different environment from any live venue. In many cases, stagehands and producers will use different setups to accommodate each, but a good stereo equalizer can be used for both simply by changing the settings. Obviously, this can be time-consuming and difficult, but if you do not have the kind of money larger acts do, it may be your best option.
