World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria

Mists of Pandaria (MoP) is the latest expansion pack for World of Warcraft and it dropped early this morning. I was up for the drop along with some of my gaming friends and we immediately played through the first stages of the 85+-lvl quests then made Panda Monks.

The new questing area is definitely gorgeous to look at and has a lot of cool features, though I was somewhat underwhelmed by the Panda Monks. Honestly, I am not sure what about them failed to live up to my hopes but whatever it is, I am simply none too impressed.

I was also disappointed by the Pet Battles system. The problem there is that you have no control over your pets; it is simply click and wait - you attack then wait for the other pet to respond.

However, my Panda Monk is only level 8 and my Battle Pet is only level 3, so my criticisms may be a little preemptive. I will have a better idea as to what I like and do not in coming weeks. Also many of these things are likely to change, some slightly and others more completely, and that is certain to affect my opinion on them. I'm sure I'll have more to say on MoP in coming weeks.
