A Saudi Arabian prince who has pushed for more activism in government and wants to open a cable news network invested $300 million in Twitter. Twitter played an integral part in uprisings in and around Saudi Arabia recently, and a lot of news has been broken on the social network before making it to traditional news outlets. As growing numbers of Saudi Arabians are turning to things like social networks for their news content, it's obvious that Twitter is coming to be seen as a broadcasting platform.
