An unnamed actress is suing IMdB and its parent site, Amazon, for revealing her real age after she joined IMdB Pro. The actress, who is unnamed but "of Asian descent" and out of Texas, claims she joined IMdB Pro in 2008 and her birthdate was immediately listed on her IMdB profile. She asked the company to remove it, but the request was refused.
Jane Doe, as she is named in the suit, claims she is losing roles due to her "youthful appearance" and the fact that she cannot "physically portray" a 40-year-old woman. She is suing IMdB for $75,000 and $1 million punitive damages.
Amazon refused to comment on the lawsuit.
