Hackers Exploit Bin Laden's Death

Following President Obama's announcement that US forces had killed Osama Bin Laden, many began demanding to see pictures. The President later said he chose not to release these pictures out of fear that they could engender strong feelings of anger amongst terrorists who might want to exact revenge upon America and/or its citizens, but before then, pictures began surfacing online and they went viral.

Now, analysts are warning that hackers are exploiting Bin Laden's death through fake pictures, links, videos, and more. Facebook saw an outbreak of Bin Laden-related links that sent clickers either to infected sites or forced them to download malware purporting to be images of the deceased.

News agencies have also been hard-pressed in the verification department, as no fewer than three alleged fakes surfaced within hours of the President's announcement, making their way around the Web. Some of these images were reported by websites and newspapers, only to be retracted.

Again, any photos of Bin Laden's corpse have been classified and will not be released. Do not click on any links or images.
