UK Internet Surge Led by Users Aged 50+

According to Nielsen's UK division, users aged 50 and over lead the recent surge of internet usage in the UK between 2009 and 2010. Some 53% of new internet users in the UK between summer of 2009 and the summer of 2010 are aged 50 or older. Men comprise most of this figure; women over 50 made-up some 15% of the estimated 1 million new internet users in that age group.
