AOL announced plans to cut 900 positions form its workforce, 700 of which will be in overseas offices. Following this pruning of the staff, AOL will have about 3500 employees in America and 500 in India. Spokespersons said the eliminations were due to overlap following the recent acquisition of the Huffington Post.
